Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday announced a line-up of three India-focused offerings including an indigenous sovereign cloud for government and public sector enterprises, engineered to keep sensitive data within India’s borders, as the IT services behemoth sharpened its gaze on the domestic market. The TCS SovereignSecure Cloud provides dedicated infrastructure, geared to enable compliance to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and is built on the principles of sovereignty, security, and sustainability, with AI integrated into its foundation.
Powergrid Corporation of India has commenced commercial operations at its 85 MW solar plant in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh. The solar project has been set by its wholly-owned subsidiary, namely Powergrid Energy Services Ltd, the company said in a regulatory filing. “This is to inform that 85 MW Solar PV Power Plant at Nagda, Ujjain…has been put into commercial operation with effect from April 24,” it said.
Zuari Industries on Thursday said it has signed a pact with ICAR-Indian Sugarcane Research Institute (ISRI) to implement a cane development programme at Gobind Sugar Mills in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh. Wipro has launched its GitHub Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. The CoE, as part of Wipro’s ai360 initiative, will serve as a central hub for GitHub-related innovation within Wipro. Bharat Heavy Electricals informed the exchanges about a minor fire incident on a garbage heap at its Bhopal unit. The situation was promptly attended to by the CISF fire team, with additional support from municipal fire tenders and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team. The fire was contained within the plantation area, and there was no damage to any machinery, plant, or property. No injuries or casualties occurred, it said.
